$0.10

3 ply Meat Soaker Pads absorb the additional liquid let out from fresh meat, extend the shelf life of the fresh food. And the PE cover are lint free.

Application–Meat Soaker pads, under the fresh meats

We often buy some meat in supermarkets and fresh food chain stores. Have you ever seen this strange material hovering beneath the meat you buy? Do you want to know its purpose? You are not alone. Although almost every packaged poultry or meat contains this liner. It is likely that you have never paid too much attention to it or bothered to understand it… until you accidentally saw it or cooked it. You may worry about whether you had to throw away the entire meal. So let’s talk about this white lining under meat together!

Usage–Extend the shelf life

Without the pads

Let’s talk about what would happen if we didn’t use an absorption pad first.
Fresh meat drips and smells.
Fruits are prone to damage and decay.
And seafood residue can’t be discharged, which is not conducive to preservation.
Moreover, the warranty period of meat during transportation or placement is not long enough, which affects display and sales, and even affects people’s physical health.

Damage of the “liquid”

We know that the liquids of raw poultry and meat may contain active bacteria, which may pose a risk to your health in their raw state. Storing meat in a liquid environment may lead to more bacteria breeding in the meat, thereby increasing the risk of foodborne diseases.  Meanwhile, the harmful liquids may leak, spill, or drip into your counter and other food preparation areas, and pollute other foods.

Absorb the additional liquid from the Meat

Soaker Pads can absorb these potentially. It effectively locks the liquid inside, containing these bacteria as much as possible. While the moisture inside the small packing won’t be decreased. It won’t absorb actively, only absorb the “additional” liquid let out from the meat, and help to keep meat safer and fresher. Then the shelf life will be extended and the meat is still “fresh” enough, and won’t become dry.

So, the purpose of the thin white absorption pad in the packaging is obvious— to absorb the blood or residue that naturally seeps from meat, poultry, and seafood over time. The soaker pads prevent the liquid from gathering in the packaging and improve the preservation environment, extending the preservation period. It ensures product quality.

Also, protect the food from crashing

Moreover, the material of the absorption pad is soft. It can provide buffering and protection for fresh food, making it less likely to be squeezed or damaged. This further ensures the quality and freshness of the food and reduces the losses of businesses. This not only helps to minimize the level of chaos in the kitchen, but it also helps to complete some important food safety tasks.

SAFETY

Components of the meat pads – PE film and Air laid nonwoven

These mats consist of air-laid nonwoven,  non-toxic perforated plastic film. The perforated film allows the liquid to penetrate and “locked” inside. While the soaker won’t absorb actively, the moisture inside food and the small packing won’t be influenced.

Material safety requirements

As food packing material, we ensure that these absorbent pads consist of specific forms of paper and plastic film. Although the idea of plastic in continuous contact with your meat in the refrigerator for days or even months may not be appetizing. The materials are safe enough even after a long exposure time.

Requirements for packing material

In fact, the packaging materials for meat and poultry are much stricter than you imagine, to ensure that they do not contain any harmful chemicals that may seep into the product over time. These requirements are very strict, so every material in your chicken or steak packaging, including absorption pads, must be separately applied for and approved by the organization in order to come into contact with your protein.

Our material PE & AIR LAID can meet the requirements, safe enough

a) What happens if you accidentally cook a liquid-soaked mat? Actually, this may not be a big deal. According to the Food Safety and Information Services Department of the United States Department of Agriculture, as long as the absorption pad does not melt, tear, or crack, your food is completely safe. As for the bacteria in the mat, they will be killed during the cooking process, just like any bacteria in raw meat.

b) What if you accidentally eat some plastic before realizing its existence? Once again, there is no need to panic. The two main forms of absorbent materials used to form liners are not easily digestible. Therefore, even if you unknowingly eat a small portion of paper, it will pass directly through your digestive tract and will not decompose in your system. Although it is clearly not recommended to intentionally consume this material, consuming it in small amounts is highly unlikely to make you sick.

In the final analysis, this mysterious absorption meat pad will extend the shelf life and can protect your meat.
